Being Invisible

This is a blog I think a lot of people might misunderstand as being just, well, negative.  Its not meant to be.

Yes it deals with a negative subject – how much my  38 yr old life has been sadly derailed by eating disorders and body image issues – but I’m not writing this just to vent; its because I couldn’t find another recovery blog from someone with an eating disorder, and wondered if I was the only one out there!

I’m sure I’m not. I think its much more likely that, like me, all us with eating issues out there are so busy being afraid of what other people might think of us if we admit that we are having problems coping  (with food, shame, relationships, rage, our kids, trying to ‘be’ happy, LIFE) that we would rather be invisible than get help or support….or, even, to get better at all.

I have found it difficult to get help for my problems, but I do want to get better.

I’m hoping this will help me, I’m hoping it will help others .

Hands up – anyone else!?
